Entry #4: Self-Generated

The first United States weed resort. Now, does that sound like paradise to all you weed smokers? Well it is a plan in action.

The Santee Sioux tribe from South Dakota are planning on building a marijuana resort on their reservation.  The resort is designed to grow their own pot and sell them in a smoking lounge. Along with a nightclub, arcade room, bar and food restaurants, slot machines, and an outdoor music venue. "We want it to be an adult playground" states tribal President Anthony Reider. The tribe believe that it will bring in more money along with the casino, hotel, and head buffalo head ranch that are already highly successful. They calculated that the resort could bring in about $2 million per month.

There are very few complications to making this resort happen but Jonathon Hunt states that "This is not a fly-by-bight operation we want to show the state how clean, how efficient, how proficient, save and secure this is as an operation. We are not looking to do anything shady." With the hotel growing their own pot they have decided to start selling on December 31st at a New Year's Party. With the amount of money that this resort brings in they plan to use the money for community services, a decent monthly income for tribal members, support family homes, a senior living community, a clinic and a community center offering after school programs.
