Entry #5: ASU
Okay, we all know that most college students want to just hurry up and finish their schooling and get it over with. Well, now they have that option. ASU is now offering courses that take 7 1/2 weeks to complete, rather than the usual 15 weeks. Students could graduate within 3 years instead of 4. Of course, this would be easier for students who are working because then they won't have such a complicated work and school schedule. This idea has been on the rise since more students have been enrolling into online classes that are 7 weeks long. With the shorter courses offered the spring semester would have to start classes a week earlier than before, rather than starting in the middle of January. On the other hand, if students were to choose this course they would have to keep up with their grades in order to maintain a good GPA. Then there are students who would prefer the traditional 15 week course simply because it would give them more time to complete assignments, rather than cramming 2 or more research projects into 2 or 3 weeks.
